Telehealth Education and Certifications

With today’s economic realities limiting available travel expenses, and companies like Apple, Samsung and Microsoft touting the video conference capabilities of their devices, suddenly everyone is taking another look at the use of telehealth for the delivery of healthcare education and services. Since a primary concern of healthcare providers is quality improvement, it is no surprise that an early question asked about telehealth concerns the education and training available for practitioners.

As always, the Heartland Telehealth Resource Center (HTRC) is a primary resource for information regarding telehealth. HTRC works closely with other Telehealth Resource Centers (TRC) to ensure a constant flow of the latest telehealth information available to the public. While all TRCs are operated by experienced telehealth professionals, each has a particular area of expertise that compliments the others. Among the TRCs focused on educational activities, a variety of resources have recently been made available for those considering the use of telehealth for clinical activity.
